THE NETHERLANDS

We aboslutely loved the apartment! Can't say much else except that we really enjoyed our stay, and that our annual Paris trip was once again exactly all what we all needed. Considering the fact that we've been blessed with awesome weather as well, and that our profound love for French breakfasts has been satisfied. I think it's safe to say that we can't wait to plan for another trip. Cheers and thanks for everything.

Ottowa, CANADA

Micheline, Fraser and baby Elliott enjoyed a wonderful sejour in this apartment in the 10th. Elliott learned to walk in the living room and we all enjoyed long walks along the Canal St. Martin. The neighborhood is full of fantastic bakeries and restaurants and we recommend the butcher on rue Lancry (near Magenta) for anyone who wants to eat a fabulous roast. We looked forward to coming back to this cozy apartment after work everyday…and we hope to come back someday. Thank you for all of your help,

The Woodalls and Harrisons satyed here for a few days during our brief stay in Paris. The professionalism demonstrated by Lauren Greenwald was top notch. The apartment itself was simple, classy, and well-kept. I would definitely recommend this apartment to my friends.

Ashley and Sarah had an amazing week in Paris – thanks for making such a fantastic apartment available to us! Great neighborhood, we had a fantastic dinner at Le Sporting on the corner – and so much fun exploring the rest of Paris. Hope to return soon!

The Shahs and Javles
Buffalo, NY, USA

The Shahs and Javles were here. The apartment is very nice and conveniently located in Paris. We enjoyed our stay here – thanks for providing a well-equipped apartment. We hope others enjoy as much as we did. Word of advice for metro travellers: unfortunately we were pickpocketed. Try to travel without wallet. Avoid all crowded trains – just await the next train! Yet we loved the city very much and we'll be back!

We had a great week in Paris. This apartment is so comfortable and feels like home. The weather has been boiling hot and humid but there's always a nice breeze through the apartment. It has been a new experience for us to have the intimacy of neighbors close by. We all enjoyed the art books and the DVD collection. Our favourites in Paris were Versailles, Eiffel tower, the unicorn tapestries at the Musee de Moyen Age, the Musée d'Orsay and Chartres.

The apartment was perfect! A wonderful mix of old and new. Thanks for the superb beds, bedding and appliances. Microwave was most helpful. We, Americans, love our microwaves for ease of meals. We will definitely tell our friends about the gem of a flat we discovered in Paris. Teddy and Lauren were great to check us in and made us feel at home. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful area of Paris. We loved and enjoyed so much in Paris and are sad to leave this wonderful city. Most we enjoyed the French themselves. We met many wonderful, helpful people.

The apartment is the most comfortable and convenient we have rented - and we have had quite a few over the years. Although staying at chez Grandmere's was our favorite place, of course, her place was not as close to things in Paris. The shops on Rue Lancry are great - we love the butcher near the metro. The pharmacy at the metro is open every day and they are quite helpful. My wife stocked up on all of her homeopathic remedies!! We cannot decide which boulangerie is out favorite - but the one at the corner is simple but good For pastries, we prefer the one next to the butcher. Le Sporting is quite good, as you know, and seems to be quite full all of the time. On Sunday, they seem to serve all day. We had lunch our first Sunday at about 3pm and the place was jumping! Having the Franprix so close is also great. The apartment has many amenities that we love. The internet connection saved me a lot of time and cybercafé charges. I was able to do banking, take care of personal business, and keep up with family. The other amenity we were not expecting was the washer/dryer combo. I love not having to schlep down to the Laundromat. You might want to include that on your list of amenities - I think it only says "washer." We love the light and the cross ventilation. The apartment is quiet - except for our petite hurricane upstairs but we learned to live with it. We have really loved this stay in Paris.

We really enjoyed our stay at 40 Rue Sampaix. There are good specialty markets/a traditional boulangerie within a few blocks. It's easy to catch a taxi on the canal or main Boulevard, but the street itself is relatively quiet. There is good cafe, bar, and restaurant scene starting just at the end of the block, and although this street is fairly residential, it is convenient to more commercial/touristed parts of the city. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking gear and the windows let in plenty of light and breeze- the place is well-used and thus a bit worn, but chraming just the same. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

With my wife and teenage children (on one trip 2, then with 3), I have stayed here twice for a total of 4 weeks. Hardly a reason to stay anywhere else!

The apartment has plenty of space (though a very thin bathroom could have taken some space from an inexplicably large entrance hallway). It's homely without feeling like someone else's home. Has many appreciated "bits and pieces" you could never find/ get in a hotel. The wireless and cable internet much appreciated, especially with teenagers.

Paris' homeless population might concern some visitors and this area of Paris doesn't escape the problem. But only the most prestigious districts have fewer. Generally, the location is great. Proximity to two major train stations make intercity/day trips and arrival & departure most convenient as well as for metro travel. Cooks will also appreciate the nearby and excellent markets (especially Bellevue). Non cooks - the restaurants, from Le Sporting at the end of the street to Chez Michel near Gare de Nord. The Canal is always pleasant whether in the morning on the way to pick up bread or for a stroll after dinner. The area has a genuine "neighbouhood" feel about it.

The manager is also more than anyone could expect - very efficient and friendly. And always helpful with any problem or question that we had.

If you paid many times the price, you might expect a view of the Eiffel Tower or a balcony over a boulevard but at this price I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.

Other....
We have had two generally negative comments. Both related to noise. One couple were woken up by a neighbor having a party. This doesn't normally happen and the clients didn't tell us until after they had left
realizing that these things sometimes just happen. Nobody else has complained about this happening since then. The second issue was the apartment below being remodeled in September 2005. The building is quite small so the frequency of remodeling is extremely rare. Also, as would be expected, no construction can happen at night or on Sundays. If there is any problem whatsoever we will do our very best to resolve it as quickly as possible.
